| Each
year at Broadway Barks, one-of-a-kind stuffed dogs that
are signed by the casts (and in some cases, decorated
by the wardrobe departments) of some of Broadway's hottest
shows are auctioned to raise money for the Picasso Veterinary
Fund of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.
Here's your opportunity to own an "Autographed
Hound of Broadway" and at the same time help NYC's
homeless animals! Some of the 20 shows represented are
All My Sons,
Billy Elliott,
Blithe Spirit,
Equus,
Hair, Hairspray,
9 to 5, South
Pacific, West
Side Story, and more. There is also a special
hound honoring Broadway
Barks, signed by founders Bernadette Peters and
Mary Tyler Moore.

Welcome to the Picasso Veterinary Fund!
How the Picasso Veterinary Fund is saving lives…
Traditionally, animals with extreme medical needs
who are taken in by animal control shelters are euthanized because
the funds needed to pay for extensive surgeries and other expensive
treatment just haven't been available. But many of these animals
would make wonderful, loving pets if only they had access to the
medical treatment they need. The Picasso Veterinary Fund was created
to give these animals the second chances they deserve. By paying
for medical treatment that otherwise would not be available to them,
the Fund is saving lives that in the past would have been lost.
Administered by the Mayor's
Alliance for NYC's Animals, the Picasso Veterinary Fund pays
for lifesaving medical treatment for sick and injured animals transferred
from Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) to other Alliance
Participating Organizations (APOs) for adoption.
These animals get the veterinary care
they need to get back on their feet, and then are put up for adoption
when they are healthy enough to be placed into a permanent home.
Since 2003, hundreds of dogs and cats
have received medical treatment paid for by the Fund.
